So, our expert review team carefully estimated all spheres of Absolute translation service such as accuracy, speed, pricing, certifications, information about the company, and customer feedback. Absolute has a 95% positive rating on Trustpilot and has mostly positive reviews. Our experts were wondering if our test shows the same good results.
Company's Pricing
AbsoluteTranslations doesn’t have upfront pricing on their website. To get to know the price for our order, we requested a price quote. This process is fast and instant, so it wasn’t problematic. We decided to order English to French translation agency service. Our 700-word document cost us $107, which is around $0.15 per word. Apart from the standard $0.15 per word, there are more advanced options. You can opt for translation plus proofreading by another specialist, which would cost $0.19 per word.
Also, there is a specialist translation for specific industries by experts in the field. It costs $0.18 per word. Plus, if you want to expert-proofread such a document, it will cost you $0.21 per word. In the end, you can pay even more if you order a less frequent language pair, for example Portuguese to English translation or Canadian French to English services. These are high translation service fees, as it’s above market average. We opt for standard translation, as Absolute specified it would be written and proofread by different professionals.
Speed of Delivery
This service promises 1-2 days of standard delivery option, which is great, as there is no need to pay the rush fee. Customer Absolute reviews say it has quick service. For most customers, orders came in a timely manner. However, for some, it took longer than expected. For example, company delivered Arabic documents in 4 days instead of 2. Overall, reviews online mention great speed, so this part of company's operation is okay. As for our order, we received it on time. Absolute proved its reputation as a fast agency because we got our order in just a day, which is an excellent result.
Accuracy of Our Documents for Absolute Review
Around 80% of the customer reviews say that this company provides accurate, usable documents. However, there were cases when service produced a poor-quality document, and people had to translate documents elsewhere or do it themselves. This is a bad sign because sometimes Absolute sacrifices quality to speed. Everyone can make mistakes, but we saw a pattern. Quite often, AbsoluteTranslations reviews say that they provide lousy translation - in fact, more often than it should be.
As for our order, we have to admit negative reviews were true. The text was done in a rush. We can also say that translation was partly by machine. For example, names in the other language looked weird and had extra letters in them. We used help of French native speaker to estimate our order, and he pointed out that there were mistakes that distorted the meaning of a text. We were very displeased to see them. So, we don’t recommend ordering difficult legal or technical manual translation services from this company. What we got was machine-generated text with little or no human proofreading, so accuracy disappointed us.
Certified Translations
AbsoluteTranslations.com says the company is ISO 17100: 2015 certified and is a member of ATC and EUATC. They can provide certified documents as they notarize or legalize papers. People can later use them for government and non-government organizations. Language experts who get to certify papers have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and are registered by official government institutions. The service is also confidential, which is a plus.
Absolute Translations LTD boasts 200 people on staff that can certify documents. This is great, as there are enough people to fill urgent certification needs. As for the customer reviews, we found mostly good ones, but several stated that they had to ask for a revision because of mistakes or unreadable stamps.
Concluding Absolute Translations Reviews
From first sight, Absolute looks really good. It has 4.8/5 rating according to Trustpilot by its customers. The service also boasts a great speed of delivery. We received our document in just one day, like many other customers. The company rarely misses deadlines and almost all praise them for their quick, timely service.
Also, AbsoluteTranslations review showed that this company has user-friendly website. We didn’t find any pricing list to guide us through services, but there’s convenient online quote form. The price is calculated instantly depending on your language pair and level of translation. There are four levels, so you can opt for double proofreading or industry-specific documents that connect you to an expert. However, pricing is still very high, with $0.15 per word being the lowest.
Still, if we dig deeper, it turns out that quality is pretty low. This service is fast, but quite often it provides poor quality service. Our English to French document wasn’t well-translated, so we can’t say it’s top translation company for this language pair. We found many customer reviews that had the same experience.
We think that machine translation was involved because there were mistakes of mechanical matter. For example, one word was substituted by another for no reason. Any human translator would have noted that. Also, there were misspelled names and titles, which we think is a sign of machine name transcription services. For this Absolute Translation review, we weren’t satisfied with quality. We still think that this is the most important part of the company's operation, so we cannot recommend this service, especially counting the fact that it’s overpriced.
User Reviews
I contacted this service with a quote request and was initially impressed with their quick response. However, my experience took a turn for the worse when I placed an order for a video transcription of my online course. The promised turnaround time was far from being met, and I had to wait much longer than I expected for the transcripts to be delivered. The delay caused considerable inconvenience and hindered my progress through the course. While the accuracy of the transcripts is commendable, the lack of timely delivery is a major drawback. I am disappointed overall.
Since when do I have to pay money for machine translation? Or is there something I don't know? I think that my translation was not done by a person, I am 89% sure of this. Apparently everyone was in a hurry and it was not in vain that they gave my translation in such a short time.
I regretted using the services of this translation company. The translations were full of mistakes and typos and it was obvious that the translators were not very good at understanding the nuances of the source language.
They should be so irresponsible! Not only did they delay the deadline, but the translation is no good at all! What did I pay you for?
They didn't manage to make a good translation the first time... It's a shame to waste my time on them...
