If you don’t like such an approach, don’t worry — after our experiment, we’ve figured out basic prices. They start with about $30 per page, which corresponds to the market average. So, dealing with Tomedes means you won’t be losing a fortune, which is a definite advantage.  

Maintaining Deadlines

We got our order a little bit later than expected. Difference was just several hours, but it still left us with a mixed impression. Sure, we didn’t specify that we need the order to be done urgently, but we did set a specific deadline, and not meeting it is not very professional. Company didn’t apologize until we pointed this problem out, which further worsened our impression. If they told us they were late for some reason, it would be more acceptable, but ignoring the problem and hoping we wouldn’t notice it isn’t an attitude we hoped to find. It made us wonder how process of urgent orders is handled in Tomedes.  

Quality of Tomedes Translations

Our financial document was translated in a relatively acceptable way. We phrase our opinion in such manner because while overall quality makes it clear that a human expert was working on the project, some serious mistakes were overlooked, and there was a significant issue with formatting of formulas. This latter problem could be a result of machine input, which is a mark against quality. Text had few grammar mistakes, but there were some very awkward phrasings that distorted meaning of the original and could mislead the client in any other situation.  

Depth of Customer Satisfaction

We believe that Tomedes has great translators, but unfortunately, the one we got didn’t fall into the category of the best. Communication was polite and stable in every instance: we got responses to all our questions instantly, our concerns were addressed swiftly, and the managers promised to take our feedback into account. But it’s translation that counts most. Based on our experience, it needed some significant polishing, and some of its aspects could end up confusing actual customers. This firm has a wide range of all possible services, so that might be where problem lies. It tries to cover all possible directions without paying attention to quality in them.

Certified Translation Services Option

We didn’t find any information about the certification of the provided translations and localizations, even though Tomedes offers all the details about its services via its website. So, if you need certified Arabic translation services or Czech translation services for your documents, you’ll have to seek out other translation services.

Rating and Impression

Tomedes is a cooperative and helpful firm, but it has some serious drawbacks that don’t let us see it as a top service. It doesn’t provide certification; the deadline we set wasn’t met properly, even though the delay was minimal, and most importantly, quality of translation could only be seen as average. For this reason, we give it 3 stars in our Tomedes review. Communicating with Tomedes’ experts was a pleasure, but the actual work and quality standards need to be improved.
